In January I was able to go on a silent retreat with Totus Tuus in Latrobe PA. During this retreat I had the opportunity to fully enter into my scripture passages, my meditations and deeper contemplative prayer. Experiencing silence the whole weekend really cleared away the many distractions that are constantly present in my day to day. My realizations and the graces I received at the end of the retreat were simple but pivotal building blocks for the direction the Lord wanted my prayer to take and has set the stage for a richer and more fulfilling relationship with Christ.
I was blessed to spend the Triduum in the Totus Tuus Pittsburgh house and my prayer was yet again heavily impacted. I came for the silence and the intentionality with which Dorrie, Megan and the rest of the house live out their love for Christ and I received an abundance of grace. The access to the sacraments was truly a gift because it allowed me to continue to carve out time and space for prayer. My favorite parts of the retreat were the meals when we were able to talk and I heard so many stories about each woman's personal call and journey to this way of life. It was inspiring and confirmed the importance of an authentic and uplifting community on the journey to heaven.
