Totally His through Consecrated Life
THIS IS NOT SOMETHING NEW
Consecrated life has been a part of the Church from her beginning.
Women would consecrate themselves to Christ in the early days of the Church. In the Middle Ages many European women lived as lay consecrated women in the world. One example is St. Catherine of Siena who because she was not a nun, could travel to places like Avignon and carry out ministry in her city. There have been many forms of this type of consecration in the history of the Church.
